Another Success on Broadway

In downtown Council Bluffs, a long vacant site on the south side of West Broadway was transformed into a mix of residential and commercial spaces that helps to further densify and enliven this stretch of the city’s core. This is the second project in the historic West Broadway area that APMA has worked on – the first being the historic Hughes-Iron Motor Company Building, which is just next door. For the Sawyer Building, the architects drew from key historic features of the adjacent buildings when devising the window proportions and exterior cladding palette. The result is a simply ornamented brick façade with prominent street-level glazing.
