Saddle Creek Retention
Treatment Basin

Utility, Function, and Aesthetics

Containing a variety of functions, such as debris screening machinery, chemical treatment equipment, and office space, Saddle Creek RTB is a balancing act of scale and material articulated via intentional contrast. A mass clad in black anodized metal with a tight reveal pattern slips beneath a larger mass wrapped in white precast concrete panels with a large joint pattern. Clear-glazed curtainwall ribbon separates the two, providing daylight and offering unobstructed floor-to-ceiling views of newly landscaped waterways when appropriate while views of equipment within are obstructed by perforated screens. The end result is a sophisticated enclosure for a utilitarian purpose.
