Tasked with renovating the 17,000+SF early-1900s Burlington Railroad Mail Terminal space into the headquarters of Boyd Jones Construction, the design team worked to marry a modern, clean aesthetic into the historically significant building. The overall space plan capitalized on the large original floorplates and the triangular shape of the building to create an open and airy office ripe for collaboration and flexible for future growth. Oversized windows offer spectacular views of downtown while flooding the office with natural light.

Original elements – such as exposed brick walls and the existing historic pavers left in place throughout the space – were paired with burnished end grain wood block flooring to replicate the original. These original details are juxtaposed against modern furniture and fixtures in a neutral palette that allows the company’s personality to stand out against a simple backdrop.
